Dart Procedures—Block 1: The Essentials of Prone

Block 1: 6/22 - 7/20
Taught by Delia Rosenboom (UK)

A nine-month online course in five blocks, exploring the work of Australian anatomist and anthropologist Raymond Dart. This experiential journey through our developmental process will lead you through a series of movements which reproduce our process of learning to become upright.

This workshop series will equip you with insightful and potent tools to both work on yourself and pupils, skillfully combining Alexander's  principles with Dart’s insights. We will work progressively, exploring  specific movements both with and against gravity, whilst gaining an expanded understanding and experience of head-led activity,  Direction, Opposition, Individuation and more…..

This series will be divided into in-depth, themed blocks. Each week and each block will build on the material previously presented.

Block 1: An introduction to Dart, and to working in prone as an essential tool to enhance primary control, bump start head-led movement, awaken the 'inner wriggle' and to de-rotate habitual twists.
