Primary Movement

Every human body has a deep memory of easeful and dynamic coordination built into its intrinsic design. This innate coordination can be explored and evoked by personal curiosity, embodied research, and releasing the tension patterns we learn through our lifetimes. In this series we will use the Contemporary Alexander Technique to tap into the regenerative effects of receiving rebound from the planet within your movement practices (yoga, strength & conditioning, dance, tai chi, anything!) and daily life. Each session will offer: - Body mapping/functional anatomy - Qualitative movement curiosity through mini movement lessons - Hands-on research about finding less tension and more coordination in your whole body - Research as to how to increase your sensory awareness and kinesthetic capacity for greater overall nervous system regulation Join for one or all of the following sessions from 5:30pm-6:45pm:

July 10 - REST

July 17- FOLDING

July 24 - BALANCE

July 31- FLOW

Connective Constellations of our Body: A Contemporary Alexander Technique Workshop by Tahni Holt and DeeAnn Nelson

What are the ways in which we hold ourselves up, push ourselves down and disconnect from the relationships (human and non-human) that are all around us?

How do we notice and wake up to these unconscious patterns?

What are practices of interrupting these patterns to choose connectivity, support and resource?

Join us for an exploration using Contemporary Alexander Technique to research patterns of disconnectivity, and how to gain access to new choice with curiosity.

Turn Tension into Ease

Come examine the movement and mechanics of your body, and how to be easeful in it.

We are shaped by our conditions, our experiences, and our belief systems (chosen and inherited). We are both deeply interconnected and diverse. Our bodies are changed by our environment and the way we are embodied changes the spaces we’re in. This class will focus on finding ease, pleasure, and belonging in your individual body and as you relate to the world.

This class is virtual. All classes will be recorded so that students have access to the entire course even if they cannot make all sessions live.

Body Mechanics: Experiential Anatomy, Design and Practice

Bodies are amazing systems designed for ease, strength, and longevity but we don't get blueprints. Explore structures and relationships, learn common misconceptions that lead to injury, and tap into your innately brilliant and capable body.

Come explore the function and design of our bodies in an applied, experiential and embodied way. How we think about our body affects how it functions, so we'll address common misconceptions that lead to misuse, injury and discomfort. We'll look at body structures and relationships and apply that understanding in a practical way to the activities of your life. We'll explore movement, breath, mechanics, coordination and more. Develop a new and functional understanding of your body in order to access more balance, ease, efficiency, strength and comfort.

This class is virtual. All classes will be recorded so that students have access to the entire course even if they cannot make all sessions live.
